As part of her tour of schools, Anne-Marie visited Amble Links First School to speak to school staff and of course the pupils.
Speaking of the visit, Anne-Marie said:
"I was thrilled to visit the pupils at Amble Links First School and catch up with Headteacher Paul Heeley, who told me roll numbers have doubled during his 12 years at the school, and updated me on how the school, teachers, pupils and families have coped with covid and the return to face to face learning.
"My favourite part of the visit - as it always is - was talking with the pupils and taking part in a Q&A session with Year 4 pupils, and answering their questions. I often find that questions from schoolchildren can be just as, if not more, probing than those from adults, and they are always really good fun to take part in, so thank you to the pupils for keeping me on my toes!"
