Anne-Marie welcomes millions of pounds for Northumberland schools

Education funding

Yesterday, the Department for Education announced £1.8 Billion to improve the condition of schools and sixth-form buildings.

  • £205,920 – for 36 named schools in our constituency to spend on capital projects that meet their own priorities
  • +£4.14 million – to maintain and improve the condition of school buildings across Northumberland County Council and the Dioceses of Durham and Newcastle

Capital investment in schools now totals £17 Billion since I became your MP!

Yesterday, the Govt also announced £850 million to create 60,000 more school places for children with special educational needs, taking Northumberland Council's high needs provision capital budget to over £4 million across this year and next!
