A wonderful show of unity at Prime Minister’s Questions in Parliament last week, as many MPs across the UK House of Commons took part in 'Wear It Pink' for Breast Cancer Now!
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we recognise there is still much to do, but I’m proud that the NHS’s Breast Screening Programme offers all women between 50 and 70 the opportunity to be screened every three years, with text message alerts to remind women of upcoming appointments, and local and national media campaigns to raise awareness. All while, through the Women’s Health Strategy, £10m has been provided to expand capacity for breast screening through 29 new breast cancer screening units, 58 remote access upgrades and nearly 70 life-saving service upgrades.
