One of our constituency’s unique and beautiful green spaces is the revamped Embleton Quarry Nature Reserve.
I met some of the generous volunteers who look after this special environment on my recent visit, plus some of the local Parish Councillors on the quarry working group, to hear more about their ongoing work as well as ways I can assist them going forward.
- Dark skies viewing area with free talks for the community
- Stabilisation of Quarry House, home to an important colony of tree sparrows
- Funding from Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Coast Care Northumberland and the local history society
You can find out more – such as about their Mid Summer Firewalk fundraiser next week – on their Facebook page: Embleton Quarry Nature Reserve
