Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP has welcomed the news that eight sites in her constituency are to receive funding from the Government's £1.57 billion fund for culture, the Cultural Recovery Fund.
Last week, the Culture Secretary Oliver Downded, announced that heritage sites, including Berwick Barracks would receive support. This week he has included arts and theatre venues. The tally of funding is outlined below:
1. Alnwick Playhouse- £197,668
2. Alnwick Gardens - £90,000
3. Aln Valley railway - £21,300
4. Berwick Malting Theatre £230,000
5. Berwick Barracks - £60,000
6. Etal Castle - £16,000
7. Cragside- £21,600
8. Brinkburn Mill - £43,776
Anne-Marie said: "I am so pleased we have been able to support these incredible sites, so they can continue to be maintained throughout these really difficult times. The fund will allow many of our key heritage sites to continue to employ the specilist conservation experts we need to ensure these heritage sites are open maintained for future generations."
