Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Member of Parliament for Berwick-upon-Tweed is calling on the community to support Wooler First School in their bid to win a new playground for their school.
Wooler First School are a recycling school, which undertake great work on behalf of the environment and have entered a competition to win a playground for their new school with Tesco. This is a really important project for the school, and is the only school in the North East to have entered. The children have been designing posters and flyers and have delivering in the local community. All residents have to do is vote on the following link for the school- https://www.tescowinaplayground.co.uk/
Anne Marie said “This is an incredible opportunity for our one of our outstanding local schools. The work the children have undertaken on behalf of the environment is an incredible achievement in itself and we are immensely proud of them. The possible reward of a new playground is not only so richly deserved but is of vital importance to the school”.
“Play areas are vital for the development of our children, provide crucial social skills, and can deliver crucial improvements in a child’s mental and social wellbeing. Furthermore, our rural schools face great challenges in competing with bigger schools across the country and require all the support they can get. Therefore, I urge everyone in the north Northumberland and beyond to vote for the school and deliver a much needed and justified early Christmas present.”
