Anne-Marie Trevelyan, MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed, accepted an invitation to visit Waren Caravan & Camping Park in Bamburgh to see to see for herself the preparations that were being put in place to welcome visitors back after the Government enabled hospitality venues to re-open to guests from 4 July.
The MP met General Manager Darren Williams and Regional Director Alex Benson, who showed her round the park the day before it re-opened for guests.
Anne-Marie said: “I was delighted to be invited to see the preparations that the park’s management were taking to welcome visitors again. It was clear to me that a lot of care and planning had been undertaken to ready the park for visitors and to ensure everyone can enjoy the facilities safely. All the staff were very positive and were looking forward to welcoming visitors again.
“The tourism industry in Northumberland has been hit hard by this virus, so I am delighted they are able to re-open to guests once more, to give them the opportunity to rebuild and to enable others to relax in our stunning Northumberland countryside.”
Anne-Marie was given a tour of the park and spoke to staff about the challenges they had overcome to ensure the park could open to guests once more with Covid-19 restrictions in place
