Berwick’s MP, Anne-Marie Trevelyan, visited the site of the town’s new electric vehicle charging point today, along with county councillors Catherine Seymour and Gregah Roughead.
The new charge point, located in the revamped Chapel Street car park, joins locations at the garden centre, Berwick Infirmary and the Swan Centre, and means visitors and locals are more able to make use of new electric vehicle technologies.
Anne-Marie said: “For electric vehicles to become more widely used, we need more charging points across rural areas such as Northumberland, and in our small towns. Constituents contact me to ask for more charge points as they are keen to take up this new technology – as am I! Any move which encourages those driving electric vehicles to make the trip to visit our wonderful town is good news. I look forward to there being even more charge points in the near future!”
