Anne-Marie Trevelyan, MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed, is delighted to welcome funding that has been awarded to Berwick Academy. The school made an application to the Condition Improvement Fund for reroofing Block M which was successful.
The aim of the Condition Improvement Fund is to keep academy and sixth form buildings safe and in good working order. This includes issues with poor building condition, building compliance, energy efficiency and health and safety. Projects range in value from £20k up to £4m, with the average amount awarded just over £300k. In total, the Fund has awarded £433 million for 1,413 projects at 1,210 academies and sixth form colleges.
Anne-Marie said, “I am so pleased that this Government is investing in the upkeep of our school buildings, and welcome this funding for Berwick Academy.”
