Anne-Marie held on of her regular meetings with local farmers in Ingram yesterday.
Speaking of the meeting, she said:
"During my meeting with the National Farmers' Union (NFU), I had the opportunity to catch up with some of our amazing local farmers and listen to their concerns.
"As their Member of Parliament, I am committed to take their concerns to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and ensure that they are addressed. The discussion covered a range of topics, including the challenges posed by the current cost of living, issues surrounding animal welfare, and the importance of supporting local agriculture. It was evident that the farmers were passionate about their work and committed to producing high-quality food while also preserving the environment.
"The hard work and dedication of farmers is essential to feeding the nation and sustaining our rural communities. I was impressed by their unwavering commitment to their vital role in society and will continue to work closely with the NFU and local farmers to ensure that their voices are heard, and their concerns are addressed at the highest levels of government."
