Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP was delighted to visit Berwick Academy to address the sixth former’s.
Anne-Marie was met by the Headteacher Tracy Hush, who spoke to her Anne-Marie about how the Academy is meeting the challenges of post Covid-19 learning. She then went to meet the Sixth Formers. Anne-Marie spoke about how she got into politics and explained what her role is as Secretary of State for International Trade.
She then took part in a Q & A session covering topics from transgender rights, NATO, nuclear weapons and the situation in Ukraine.
Anne-Marie said "I have very much enjoyed coming to speak with the sixth formers at Berwick Academy, many are clearly concerned and worried about the unfolding situation in the Ukraine, which is understandable and I was pleased to be able to speak individually to students who had further questions."
