The deadline for responding to Defra's consultation on the proposed Highly Protected Marine Area for the waters off Lindisfarne is 28 September - please do take part in the consultation if you have not already done so.  The consultation focuses on the potential socio-economic impact a fishing ban would have.

We were the first Government to address sewage spills from storm overflows. We only know about the unacceptable spills because it’s the Conservatives who cared enough to check. In 2010, a pitiful 7% of overflows were monitored for sewage discharges. This is now 100%.
