Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP visited King James Court in West Street on a recent constituency day in Berwick. She was met by Alan Gerono, District Manager for Anchor Homes and Anne Forbes the development manager. Anne-Marie was given a full tour of the development, where she met residents for a Q & A session.
Following the visit, Anne-Marie presented Anne Forbes with a bouquet of flowers from Anchor in recognition of the extra work she did during the horrendous weather that has afflicted the community in recent weeks.
Anne-Marie said “I have very much enjoyed my visit here today to see the facilities on offer by Anchor and the quality of care that is offered. I am particularly delighted to be asked to present this bouquet of flowers to Anne who helped not only the residents of King James Court but also members of the public, in particular a young woman who was pregnant during the heavy snow that we have recently experienced. This is a thoroughly deserved recognition for a well-meaning and valued member of the local community”.
“It was truly incredible how our great community came together in adversity to help one another and tackle the extremely difficult weather conditions. The spirit of those such as Anne show how we can work as a community and the sheer generosity of spirit we have here in the north.”
