On Friday Anne-Marie honoured a long-standing commitment to open the new Clean Energy terminal at the Port of Blyth.
Joining Port of Blyth's leadership team, local MP Ian Levy and Northumberland councillors, the Berwick MP cut the ribbon on the new terminal.
Speaking of the opening, Anne-Marie said: "I am so pleased Northumberland is leading the way once more with investment and dedication to decarbonising industry and to the commitment the Port has shown to low carbon initatives in its new terminal."
Martin Lawlor, Chief Executive of Port of Blyth said: “The opening of the Bates Clean Energy Terminal represents another important milestone in the Port’s commitment to the national decarbonisation strategy. Just as Bates Terminal was once instrumental to the coal industry revolution, the terminal is now leading the way in the clean energy revolution”.
