Anne-Marie Trevelyan, MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed, has today called on local schools and colleges to nominate their students for the Lord Glenamara Memorial Prize. The prize, now in its eighth year, rewards exceptional students in years 11 and 12 who have demonstrated excellent academic performance, civic contributions and an interest in government, education, history and/or public service. Nominations for 2019/20 will be open in September, and this year, the award will be expanded to recognise young people who excel in technical and vocational education.
Anne-Marie said "I am delighted that this year's Glenamara Prize has been expanded and will recognise the achievements of more students and teachers than ever before. The award is a fantastic way of recognising the hard work of our young people in the North East, and I would encourage all schools and colleges in our area to nominate students."
